Song of Light

This is the story of the Original Ones- Sky, Earth, Sun, Moon, and River- passed onto me by my mother, as it was passed onto her by her mother, for generation upon generation in the land of Orga.  

On holy days, when the moon was full, when the seasons changed, all Organs would gather together to hear the Song of Light. We came to know this story by heart, every cell vibrating with it’s rhythm, music, and language. 

This is what we have since forgotten: that Light is a vibration from the motion and emotions of attraction and repulsion, the dance, if you will, of the oppositional forces, eternal partners, of magnetism and electricity, Earth and Sky.  

Everything we know, see, hear, feel, experience in Orga is a manifestation of this vibration, this sound, this blessed Song of Light.

4) Earth sings (into Herself)........................................Endless

He is endless, he is free
He is wrapped like a sheet about himself

and I’m flat like the stormless sea
praying to the night wind- won’t you carry me?

She is sorrow, she is daydream
and the moon circles round her,
changes her mood
and then there is darkness again.
I am frozen, no flowers will grow in my mind.
I’m crying, crying- why can’t you hear me?

It is painful, it is shy
It’s like broken wings and angels,
you only really fall when you fly.
I am blinded, too much illusion for me.
I’m turning, turning, turning inside-
can’t you see me? can’t you hear me?
won’t you let it be?


5) Earth sings Moon.........................................Moon

Woken by moonlight, I remember the dream.
I go to the River, like she goes to the Sea.
And Moon she is birthing, the child is set free.
And what the Wolf remembers,
is what I can’t see.

She is pooling water; she is pulling me.

Saw her face for the first time,

All rivers flow from the Sky

7) Sky and Earth dream River.............Everything

Last night I was calling out to the moon
like a little baby in a light cocoon
gently oh so gently I could feel my bloom
and it was opening like a flower, that is the womb
